Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico
Located in Rio Grande, the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico reflects a level of quality and attention to detail that its founder, Donald Trump, expects from all of his projects. As a keen golfer himself, Trump has set out to create a series of golf courses designed to deliver a sense of luxury and exceptional services. Add to this, the exquisite scenery incorporated into and surrounding the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico, and you are assured of a golfing experience to be remembered.
The club’s two 18-hole championship courses – Championship and International – were designed by PGA professional golfer Thomas Kite. Expertly crafted fairways make the most of awe-inspiring scenery as the course winds its way through luxuriant vegetation, over lakes and waterways. Stunning views of the ocean and El Yunque rainforest are an added bonus as players of all levels enjoy their favorite sport in this tropical paradise. The tees are grassed in Paspalum, while the greens are grassed in Sea Dwarf paspalum and the fairways and rough in salam paspalum. There are 18 water hazards and 62 sand bunkers filled with white silica sand.
Considered to be among Puerto Rico’s most challenging courses, the Trump International Golf Club successfully hosted the 2008 Puerto Rico Open – an official PGA Tour event – which saw a turnout of around 75,000 spectators, leading to the venue being used again for the 2009 Puerto Rico Open. The 2008 PGA Tour ranked the 72-par course as 31 out of 54 in difficulty. The eighteenth hole (a 630-yard par-5) was ranked as the most difficult, while hole number one (a 484-yard par-4) was declared to be the easiest. The yardage history is 7,569, with the 2008 PGA tournament stimpmeter measuring 11 feet.
The golf courses, club house and luxury residences incorporated into the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico are set on more than a thousand acres of Atlantic Ocean waterfront about 15 miles from Puerto Rico’s capital city. With an increasing awareness worldwide of the need to conserve resources, developers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the impact of the development on the environment is minimal by using the latest technologies to promote an eco-conscious lifestyle through energy conservation, water treatment, pollution reduction and conservation of mangroves.
For the convenience of golfers, on-course food and beverage services are available. The clubhouse features a restaurant, lounge, locker facilities, sauna, Jacuzzi and massage services, as well as indoor and outdoor meeting facilities. There is a development plan for the golf club. The Trump brand is seen worldwide as synonymous with luxury and quality, and visitors to the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico will not be disappointed.
