Discover Bayamon – Cosmopolitan Metropolis

One of the largest cities in Puerto Rico, Bayamón is part of the San Juan metropolis. It was founded in 1772 and is now a lively, thriving place where people come together to share eachother's company and thoughts. It is the second most populous city on the island and, besides having a bustling economy, it also houses several major tourist attractions. Bayamón is considered to be one of the most progressive cities on the island.

There are several places well worth visiting if you are going to be in the area. You could try the Luis A. Ferré Science Park on the R167. This massive establishment has something for the whole family – from playgrounds and zoos to museums. Alternatively, there is a massive pedestrian suspension bridge which is believed to be one of three of its kind. If architecture interests you, you might think about viewing the Bayamón City Hall. This interesting structure is eight stories high and is suspended over five lanes of highway.

Once you’ve taken in the sights, you can catch the Tren Urbano – the second working passenger train in Puerto Rico – to the nearest shopping mall and indulge in a day of guilt free shopping. Bayamón boasts impressive shopping malls where you are bound to find things of interest. Once you are all shopped out, you can take in a meal at one of the many fine restaurants or eateries before heading home after a busy day.
