Puerto Rico Destinations

If you are considering traveling to another country, you might well consider Puerto Rico as the ideal destination. Flights are constant and accessible and there are many vacation packages set up to cater for various needs.

If you are planning a trip to Puerto Rico, you must realize that every stop has something unique to offer, and many are very popular tourist destinations and regions of Puerto Rico. Indeed, Puerto Rico is divided into many smaller cities and towns, each with its own special attractions. San Juan,
for example, is perhaps the most visited city in Puerto Rico.
It is the cities capital and perhaps one of the most well known
cities in Puerto Rico. San Juan has a lot to offer tourists:
stunning beaches, an established economy, excellent accommodation
and a vibrant night life. It is also the chief port of this great
island.

Although most would think of Puerto Rico as a small island in the Indies, the fact is that there are many cities to explore besides San Juan. You can plan a day of fun at the aquatic theme park in Aguadilla or at the Luis A. Ferré Science Park in Bayamón. If you’re a nature lover, you could try the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge or Rio Grande’s El Yunque. And don’t forget the El Faro Lighthouse in Rincon where you can enjoy the rare privilege of seeing whales frolic in the distance from the shore.

If it’s history or architecture that excites you, Puerto Rico offers a good measure of this too. Old San Juan was where the first Spanish settlers decided to make their homes. Most of the buildings here are original and the monumental fort of El Morro is truly inspiring. If you prefer a little more grace, Ponce is another old epicenter rich in history and architecture. In almost every city you will find a magnificent Plaza which is traditionally considered a place of meeting and association.

One of the most common reasons for visiting Puerto Rico, however, is its magnificent beaches. Here you will find miles and miles of sand, all waiting to offer you a unique and memorable experience. You can sunbath and swim in the quiet waters of Seven Seas, surf the waves at Rincon Bay, find solitude at Flamenco or go windsurfing at Shacks. Many of the places in Puerto Rico also offer horse riding, snorkeling and fishing.

Really there is something to cater to everyone’s taste and when the sun sets, you can wine and dine till you drop. Make Puerto Rico your next port of call – you won’t regret it.
